Malko po Malko

Malko po malko means little by little in Bulgarian and is the way we are learning to live our lives - every day - one little step. It is a change in mindset and consciousness.
We take our time, ensuring we don't rush or do anything in haste. Making sure what we do is what we want and need to do, not what we are told we ouhght to do. Using our intuition and feelings from inside.
We work on ourselves daily, learning to be the architects of our own destiny and when the unexpected happens to look and understand that every cloud has a silver lining. To see change in the world we need to be the change.Small degrees of change when amassed together make the difference Every little thing in our lives counts.

In 2011 our lovely garden provided the vegetables for all summer and autumn meals. Our stove is giving us heat, hot water and means to cook. We are making home made bread, buying delicious yoghurt and cheese from a local goatsman. This makes delicious and healthy meals and also significantly reduces packaging. We believe in reusing, rather than recycling. Therefore we are gradually working towards reducing items for recycle.

In 2012 our malko po malko goals are:
- grow enough vegetables to last us until the Spring of 2013.
- plant our food, timber and firewood forrest garden
- improve further the insulation of the house and minimize our firewood usage
- repair the roof
- Progress towards energy independence
- redesign our wastewater disposal to be able to recycle the water from the washing and start using dry compost toilet inside.
- reach 600 new readers with the Bulgarian translation of Linda Woodrow's "The Permaculture Home Garden" in order to be able to publish improved edition No.2
- work with the children of Shipka for passing on common sense knowledge and skills about life on our beautiful and fragile planet.

In once sentence we want to take back the power and responsibility for meeting our true needs.
